SOMEONE ONCE TOLD ME THE GRASS IS MUCH GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE.
The first thing you notice about Mr. Casey is that he is an emotional plank. He'll just... stand there. No smile, no frown, no... crying. The man doesn't show any emotion. Of course, he learned to fit in by smiling along with people when there is something happy going on, and laughs when other people laugh. But it is all a facade, and he tries very hard to fit in when he needs to. But... it is quite obvious that he doesn't know what he is doing when it comes to that.
WELL, I PAID A VISIT, BUT IT'S POSSIBLE THAT I MISSED IT.
Lydia Evers and Scott Casey met while they were both picnicking in the Alps.
Alright, so that isn’t true. The real story is they met when Scott and his jock buddies were throwing lunchmeat and carrots around… and a smelly piece of ham flew right into Lydia’s hair. Scott felt bad (sort of) and picked the meat out of her brown curls. Lydia was very upset, and wouldn’t accept Scott’s apology…This was partially because of the fact it ruined her hair style, and partially because she thought that Scott was cute and if she accepted his apology, he wouldn’t be around anymore. So it was a tactic to keep him around… quite smart, if you ask me. But summer came and went, and when the two were seniors in high school, he asked her to their homecoming. Lydia said yes, and the two were inseparable. Even when they found out that they were… both sharing valedictorian at graduation… no one was surprised, and neither one of them felt obliged to compete for the one and only label.
It was after their graduation that Scott proposed to Lydia, actually. The two were madly in love, but they were still rather young. Lydia said yes, of course, but she wouldn’t marry him until at least their third year of college. Unfortunately for her, in the middle of her freshman year, she became pregnant with her first child. Now, you would think that because of how smart the two of them were that they would know enough to use protection. But… they weren’t. Their street IQ’s were not as high as their book smart IQ’s were. But… the two were very excited for the impending birth of their first child, Abram Leonard.
Now… Lydia was not diggin’ the college life, so having a baby was like an escape from a horrible life for her. Her now husband, Scott, stayed in school. Lydia loved her son, who was born with dark brown hair like hers, but it was stick straight like Scott’s. His eyes were a hazel, that sometimes looked brown and sometimes looked blue. Lydia did not at all mind that her friends ditched her because she had a baby. She was the happiest that she’d ever been now with her newborn little boy. It obviously helped that her mother, Abe’s grandmother, loved him, and helped the young couple out whenever she could. She gave them money (as she was never short on it) and paid for any doctor visits for the young child. The couple had it made, and were able to buy the little boy whatever he wanted.
Abe was about two years old when his parents had their second child, another boy whom they named Flynn Nathaniel. Lydia was happy, but all she wanted was a girl. So, she and her husband decided that they would stop having children when Lydia bore a girl… no matter how many children it took. Luckily, after a set of boy twins, Oliver Lucas and Manuel James, and another boy, Lancer Augustine, they had their girl, whom they named Cecelia Rosannah. So, quite a big family it seemed, and the parents never fought… well… until it came time for Abe to attend middle school.
In the town that he grew up in, there was a private school and a public… the private school held the more… intellectually gifted students that had the parents that had the money. The public school on the other hand, held the… well, average students, and anyone that couldn’t afford the private school. Lydia thought that Abe should just attend the public school like all of the other children. But… his teachers in the elementary level said that it was almost necessary that the boy attend the private school, because his knowledge even at that age was very extensive, and he would only be challenged if he went to said school. But Lydia believed that they did not have enough money to send the boy there… whereas Scott, who handled the family’s money situation, knew that they did. Lydia only wanted the best for their daughter, who, at this point was only two years old and had more toys and fancier things than all of her brothers combined.
The couple eventually divorced; Scott held the custody of Abe, Flynn, Ollie, Manny, and Lance, and Lydia only took care of Cici. Abe and his brothers only saw their sister every other weekend, and barely saw their mother. She was always “too busy to see them. They didn’t mind though. When Scott’s parents passed on, they left Scott and the boys their entire estate, and all of their money. (Seems that there are perks to having only one child.) Thus, the family picked up and moved to Cecil, Maryland. Far away from where Lydia was, so Scott wouldn’t have to see her anymore. Just the mere sight of her broke the poor man’s heart. Luckily, with the money that Scott came into, he was able to fly Cici to Maryland every chance he got.
It was also lucky that he came into such money, because all of his children were exceptionally gifted… and so each required special schooling to accommodate for their needs. Abe was the most gifted of all, moving up a grade even in gifted school. The boy graduated at barely seventeen. He got accepted to and graduated from Columbia University in New York, with a degree in medicine... but... preferred to teach. No one seems to know why.
During his second year of college, his mother got into a car accident and passed away. Luckily, his sister Cici was not in the car, and was okay... their father took her in, and she was definitely happier living with her father and brothers. She missed them... The sad part of the entire story is that... none of them... really miss their mother.
IT SEEMED DIFFERENT, YET EXACTLY THE SAME.
